  1. Hi Salat.

Thanks for putting this up. We'll start canvassing options shortly.

  2. The way I see it is that we should be looking for a Fed fleet and a Klingon fleet that are both already established. We've all paid our dues and then some so it would be nice if we can reap the rewards without having to break the bank a second time.

Fleets with at least close to tier IV and the embassy completed would be preferable, more is better. Also, for fun's sake, a vibrant community. Here's the tricky part - not too full that we wouldn't be able to take leadership roles if we wanted them or make an impact in the community, not so small that we can't take it easy if we want to. Also, requirements for access to fleet provisions should be reasonable enough, somewhere similar to the level I had set previously or lower. And good people at the top if we can guarantee that.

    Thoughts everyone?

Note: I'm not feeling particularly high-energy at the moment, as can be imagined. I'm also going to be distracted by hockey playoffs to a large extent over the next couple of weeks because I'm very Canadian so I may not be able to put as much effort into this search as I should.

    1. Alright I know most of you do not want to start a new fleet.. but think about the advantages in doing so.. we get to make it ours.. all options, no searching for the perfect fleet and yes altho it will take alot of work and time to build it up again.. are any of you going anywhere anytime soon? I am not.

As far as garrett being distracted.. so what? if we start a new fleet.. and it is run where everyone has say and sway.. let garrett have his distraction.. he won't be running this thing alone. There are plenty of people willing to share responsibilities.

I understand how long it takes to start over and build up everything all over again. I also know how expensive it can be to do that, being one of the few that donated large amounts of real life cash to the last fleet. But this is my point, Myself included, there are also others from olf fleet that have donated extensively to it.. Our general fear is making the same mistake again in a existing fleet where we are not in control of where it goes. At least in starting over we know 1. we'll be "founders" and unless we really really screw something up (which I do not see happening) we can donate all we want knowing we are SAFE and won't be kicked or burned along the way.

I feel if we start over we get to do everything the right way and we trust each other, we know each other for the most part. If we join an existing fleet.. I dunno about most of you, but speaking for myself, you will not see me donating a quarter as much as I did in last fleet.. I am someone who learns from my mistakes, and I won't be repeating that again. We start over tho.. that is something different entirely.

I know garrett doesn't wanna see us go broke.. but that really isn't his problem to be honest. What I decide to donate to fleet is completely my choice. No one asked me to do it.. I want to do it. Trust me if I didn't, I wouldn't. :) and I am sure the others who have poured their cash into this like I have will agree.

So in a final statement.. I am not saying I won't join an existing fleet, I will go where you all want to go.. but I am saying we are MUCH better off starting over, and from what I have seen in Exiles chat.. I am not the only one who thinks this.

    2. I appreciate the sentiment and the gung-ho attitude.

Running a good fleet is a lot of work. Even this little venture of having everyone pull together options and find out where we go is like herding cats. I know that far more of my time and effort than I wanted was spent taking care of various fleet related issues rather than actually playing the game. I did it because I cared, rather than because I enjoyed it.

We have to consider a Klingon fleet, too. Especially with how hard it is to recruit on the Klingon side, I think starting anew would be more work than is good for us.

Also, and I don't mind tarnishing my reputation as a high-minded, selfless individual by saying this: I want to be a leech for once. Of course, I'll probably still end up doing what I was doing and contributing huge amounts of ec and finishing off projects to get them going. But I would very much like to get some reward without having to put in the huge amounts of effort that I have been putting in.

That being said, trustworthiness of fleet leadership is a major concern of mine. Perhaps that is a point in favour of Designation Classified.

  3. hello all

I have been thinking about this a lot, but we really should make a fleet of our own,i know there is a lot of fleets out there that would take us in and who are nice and fun to play with.but we will never be truly safe.

if we make our own fleet it would be ours for good, no one can tell us what to do and we can do it how we like, and in the time we want ,at least if we are not happy with something we can say and not get kick off for it. freedom of speech.

I would be happy to go pay for a membership to make a fleet for all the help we had and what you done for us,i would prefer to give my dil,ec,fm and money to a fleet of our own, not worry about anything happening to us all.

I don't think anyone will go broke if we work together like a big family, sure it is hard work .

yes like wolf said there is a lot of people that who would be willing to share responsibilities.

there is lot of us who gave a lot to the old fleet and lots of time and money, Garrett you are not alone, you don't have to give all your stuff to the new fleet work as a team, it is up to all of us to make it work and for the klingon side the same thing

you can save your EC and buy something that you want to buy,if you want to be a leech for once there is no problem with that there is a time for work and time for fun with fleet members.

but whatever you want to do, we will follow.

    best regards

    1. To get the ball rolling, the proposed fleet only needs some big ex-DSTF contributors.

    2. I kind of agree with delta...we have enough people to create our own fleet and while it wont be huge it will definitly be VERY active... plus it wont seem like anyone is doing us any favors. I know it suchs having to start the starbase over but I am pretty sure that atm we probably have alot of the gear we need.

  4. Ok, the fleet I have suggested will hae the information below

    Fleet name: 5th Armada

    Starbase tier: Tier 4

    Embassy tier: Tier 2

Roster: Usually have about a good 5 or 6 people on during the day (American day time anyway).

Requirements to get fleet stuff: You need to sign up on the blog, i belive it is 5tharmada.weebly.com, and when you join you will be a petty officer, but when you sign up, you become a warrant officer and are able to buy stuff from the fleet store and contribute to starbase and embassy.

We also have an alliance with a fleet named Tides of War, and we usually run Stf's and pvp's with them, we also have a teamspeak address, it is 5tharmada.guildvent.net:8395.
